Our Story

Built on Experience, Growing with Purpose

Founded in 2010 by Luke Robinson, Chill-Rite Refrigeration & Air Conditioning began as a small, local operation in Dubbo, where Luke, a skilled refrigeration mechanic and electrician, saw an opportunity to provide high-quality services in a region with growing demand. At just 25 years old, Luke purchased the business, laying the foundation for a company that would soon become an industry leader.

Chill-Rite’s growth journey began in 2012 with the establishment of a second branch in Orange, marking the first significant step toward regional expansion. This was followed by a major milestone in October 2020 with the acquisition of Peters Refrigeration in Mudgee, further strengthening Chill-Rite’s service offerings and reach. The following year, in October 2021, the company continued to broaden its presence with the opening of a branch in Tamworth, positioning itself as a reliable provider across a growing service area.

In 2022, Luke expanded the business even further with the acquisition of Ivers Air & Sheet Metal, adding depth to Chill-Rite’s capabilities in sheet metal fabrication and enhancing the range of services offered to clients.

Building on this momentum, 2023 saw the foundation of the Newcastle branch and the strategic acquisition of Airborne Air Conditioning and Electrical in Bathurst, solidifying Chill-Rite’s position as a dominant force in the industry.

In 2024, the company made another significant leap forward, joining forces with the metropolitan-based Air Control Australia and becoming part of the Johns Lyng Group. This partnership not only extended Chill-Rite’s national reach but also provided the scale and expertise to service clients more efficiently and cost-effectively across the country.

Continuing the trajectory of growth, in 2025, Chill-Rite established its latest branch in Coffs Harbour, bringing the total number of locations to seven.

Today, under Luke Robinson’s leadership, Chill-Rite employs over 100 staff, delivering top-tier refrigeration, air conditioning, and electrical services to clients across a vast geographical area.

From its humble beginnings with just five staff members, the company has evolved into the largest and leading air conditioning and refrigeration company west of the Blue Mountains, and with its continued expansion, it is poised to make a significant impact across Australia.

“Our name is all we have; reputation is everything.”

Luke Robinson
